Inverness There are only 7 cities in Scotland, 2 of them are in the highlands: Perth and Inverness. Recently we visited Inverness, which achieved its city status in 2000. Deemed the cultural capital of the highlands, we were informed that "Inver" means "mouth" and "ness" means "north", so Inverness means mouth of the River Ness. [...]
