Autumn is here and I realise that I stay indoors a lot more these day, I suppose the hermit life sings to me. Reading back on October's gratitude journal I realise that I've been obsessed with food! I suppose we are now a vegetarian household so finding and trying out new recipes is now a [...]

April 2023
What a month. I have been working super hard and working super late this month, which I knew was coming, but when it happens you just feel exhausted and a little drained. Reading back on my daily gratitudes, it appears I have been super grateful for food and drink! Subsistence to help get me through [...]
Afternoon Tea at The Pump Room
Right by Bath Abbey and in the same building as the Roman baths is The Pump Room. Breakfast, lunch, and of course afternoon tea is available here; and we visited recently to try out their afternoon tea. Afternoon Tea at The Tea Terrace
Recently we had afternoon tea, my all time favourite kind of meal. We visited The Tea Terrace, which turned out to be a chain. We had walked past it before but this was the first time going in. Atmosphere Everything was pink - pink chairs and pink decor everywhere. They chose a theme and really [...]
Afternoon tea at Ham Yard
So we went to have another Afternoon Tea - my all time absolute favourite thing to do, and eat, ever. It was really lovely. This time we went to the Ham Yard, which is a hotel but also has a restaurant that serves afternoon tea. We will be coming back here, for sure. Atmosphere [...]

So for my 30th the hubby remembered this conversation and decided to book it for my birthday instead. [...]
Afternoon tea at 11 Cadogan Gardens
We had booked afternoon tea at 11 Cadogan Gardens for the weekend after Valentines Day but I was too ill to make it: I had a cold and had lost my sense of hearing, smell, and taste; so we postponed it. 11 Cadogan Gardens were lovely and very understandable and were very happy to accept [...]
Special Scones
I like scones. Not so fond of sultanas, raisins, and other related stuff like that. So when I made scones I replaced the sultanas/raisins with chocolate chips. Hmm. They weren't very sweet, just chocolatey. Might just use sultanas/raisins next time. They didn't rise very well either. Maybe I just shouldn't make scones again...
